Recycle used swim equipment for the benefit of the less fortunate and the environment
HydroLoop is a non-profit organization dedicated to recycling and redistributing used swim equipment to support the less fortunate and promote swimming activities. Our mission is to reduce waste in the Atlanta area while increasing access to swimming gear for individuals and organizations in need. By partnering with swim clubs, recreational centers, and swim teams, HydroLoop aims to create a sustainable cycle of donation and reuse within the swimming community.
My name is Maia Alston, and I’m a high school competitive swimmer who created HydroLoop to recycle used swim equipment to benefit the less fortunate and the environment. I wanted to create a solution that not only addressed the issue of waste but also provided access to swimming gear for individuals who may not have the means to afford it. With determination and a deep-seated passion for swimming and environmental conservation, I embarked on a journey to turn this vision into reality.
HydroLoop is not just about recycling swim equipment; it's about fostering a sense of belonging and empowerment within the swimming community. It's about allowing kids to pursue their passion for swimming, regardless of their circumstances. It's about creating a ripple effect of change that extends far beyond the confines of the pool.
Through our ambassador program, we engage with fellow swimming enthusiasts who share our commitment to making a positive impact, ensuring that HydroLoop's legacy lives on even after I graduate and leave for college.
